1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Algophile ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. Service Description

Algophile is an AI-powered document knowledge base that allows you to:

• Upload and manage documents (PDF, DOCX, TXT, CSV)
• Generate semantic vector embeddings from your documents
• Ask natural language questions answered from your document content
• Share documents within your organization

AI processing is performed using a trusted managed cloud AI provider. Responses are AI-generated and may not always be accurate — always verify important information independently.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete account information
• Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with others
• Use the Service lawfully and in compliance with all applicable laws
• Respect the intellectual property rights of others
• Maintain your own backups of important data

You must not:

• Upload content you do not have the right to share or process
• Upload malicious files, malware, or harmful content
• Upload documents containing sensitive personally identifiable information (PII) unless you have verified that doing so complies with applicable privacy laws and regulations
• Attempt to circumvent security measures or access other users' data
• Use the Service for illegal, abusive, or fraudulent purposes
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the underlying AI models

What is PII? Personally identifiable information (PII) is any information that can be used to identify a specific individual. Sensitive examples include Social Security numbers, passport or national ID numbers, financial account or credit card numbers, medical or health records, and biometric data.

Note: Algophile does not automatically detect, mask, or redact PII in uploaded documents. You are solely responsible for ensuring that documents you upload do not contain sensitive information you are not authorized to process through a cloud AI service.

5. Content and Data Ownership

• You retain full ownership of all content you upload
• By uploading content, you grant Algophile a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you
• We do not use your content to train AI models
• We do not share your content with other users unless you explicitly enable company sharing

6. Data Retention and Deletion

You are responsible for downloading or backing up any content you wish to keep before deleting it. Deleted data cannot be recovered.

7. Service Availability

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee 100% uptime or uninterrupted access
• We may perform scheduled maintenance that causes temporary unavailability
• We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time without prior notice

8. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

• AI responses may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies
• The Service is for informational purposes only
• You are solely responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated content
• Algophile is not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on AI responses

9. Usage Limits and Quotas

The Service enforces daily limits on file uploads and questions to ensure fair use for all users. Limits are displayed within the application. Attempting to circumvent these limits may result in account suspension.

10. Account Termination

By you: You may delete your account at any time from within the application. All your data will be permanently deleted upon account deletion.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if required by law. Where practical, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you, but we may act without prior notice when necessary.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Algophile and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to data loss, service interruptions, or reliance on AI-generated content.

12. Intellectual Property

The Algophile service, software, branding, and documentation are the property of Algophile and its operators. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our software without written permission.

User-uploaded content remains your property as described in Section 5.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator is established, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in that location.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
